Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love to sprint in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation and signed a professional deal with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. The year 2005 was the time she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three throughout her races during the Olympics held during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
